Our Commitment to Diversity:
We believe diversity encompasses the variety of unique experiences, qualities, and characteristics that
our members bring to our organization. It is the mosaic of these differences that strengthens the fabric
of our community, fostering an inclusive environment where every voice is heard and valued.
Our Vision for Inclusion:
We are dedicated to creating a welcoming space for all, regardless of ethnicity, race, faith, ability,
gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or socio-economic background. Our common bond is our
shared history with our Alma Mater, yet we celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures, beliefs, and
experiences that each member contributes.
Embracing Our Differences:
An inclusive organization not only acknowledges but also embraces the fact that we are not all the
same. We recognize that while our paths may differ, our goal is to advance the mutual welfare of
GGSS/MGHS and its Alumni in the Diaspora and fulfil a main objective of enriching the lives of its
students through scholarships and awards. To achieve this, we must actively remove barriers and
biases, including but not limited to disability bias, ethnic slurs, gender bias, implicit bias, sexual bias,
ageist language, and violent language.
Fostering a Thriving Environment:
Our aim is to cultivate an atmosphere where every individual can flourish. By extending honorary
membership to former staff of our Alma Mater and relatives of current members, we open our doors
wider, ensuring that everyone. Including men, feels included and respected.
Respect for All Beliefs:
While our Alma Mater has evolved from a public school to a parochial school, the GGSS/MGHS
Alumni Association in the Diaspora honors and respects all religious perspectives. We do not view
any religion as offensive and encourage the sharing of uplifting articles that reflect our diverse beliefs.
Advancing DEAI:
Within our group, we acknowledge and leverage our strengths and weaknesses, always seeking the
best in one another. We commit to active listening, ensuring that no voice is overshadowed, and
engaging constructively with the content shared on our platform. We use the person-centered
approach, where necessary, and create partnerships with others to provide innovative and genuine
opportunities for everyone to participate fully in our activities and meaningfully engage as valued
members.
